Helsingborg is the city for the person who wants something. For those of us who live here, innovation, environmental work, new building and awesome cultural experiences, are important ingredients for creating a high quality of life. Helsingborg has, for example, a top-class symphony orchestra, municipal theatre at the forefront and a modern multi-arena for sports, events and meetings, only 10 minutes’ walk from the city centre.
Helsingborg offers many great accommodations and several new hotels are on their way. A common denominator is the central location and the high and consistent standard.
Helsingborg is located right in the expansive Öresund region and it’s no secret that many of the locals consider Copenhagen as their capital. Copenhagen Airport (Kastrup) is only an hour away by car or train. It is also easy to travel to Helsingborg if you are travelling domestically. Ängelholm–Helsingborg Airport is close by, with frequent flights from Stockholm Arlanda and Bromma.
In the little big city of Helsingborg, there are no real distances, and you can often reach meeting facilities, arenas, hotels and service with a short walk. The central station in Helsingborg is a busy centre for public transport, such as trains, ferries, buses, as well as airport coaches. If you travel by car, you can easily access the large international motorways, E4 and E6, just outside the city centre.
The locals are incredibly proud to be living with the best location in Sweden, just by the Öresund. With its mild climate and swim-friendly location, Helsingborg is a lovely destination. The long beach promenade with its top restaurants and recreational areas are very similar to a southern European Riviera. The view of the white beaches and Elsinore, Denmark, with the Kronborg castle, where Shakespeare’s classic Hamlet is set, is spectacular.
Kullagatan is Sweden’s oldest pedestrian street, and the beautiful facades add charm and ambiance. Here you will find small shops with hand-picked, unique selections as well as large chain stores. Helsingborg is one of the Swedish cities with the most restaurants, with ambitious chefs focusing on locally produced and well-cooked food. Several restaurants and cafés are listed in the prestigious White guide. With many new start-ups, the restaurant map is constantly changing. But what is for certain is that you can enjoy food from almost every cuisine in the world within a convenient walking distance.
If you want to experience Väla, one of the largest shopping malls in Sweden, you can easily travel there by local bus or car.
